What's AE team culture like in Denver?

The Account Executive team culture in Denver is extremely collaborative. Our sales process involves multiple people and our sales environment fosters best practice sharing across the team. Not good. Reps who moved from Boston to help start the Denver office are "top performers" because they're handed the best accounts and hot leads. They think they're the hottest thing since sliced bread, and are not helpful. Very cliquish.

The team culture in Denver is toxic. Management is terrible, and operates like a frat house. Poor development, and politics is rampant. Few AEs reach quota, and managers just point the finger down rather than developing AEs. Most accounts you receive will have been worked by 2-3 AEs prior to you receiving it.

The toxic comment may read like someone who's just mad they got PIPed...but literally almost no one is hitting quota. And anyone who is hitting, pretty much just got lucky on territory with a unicorn account who has budget, or, that account just got wrecked by Datadog's sneaky overages model in M2/M4 (IYKYK).

The single biggest GTM issue at DD is sales ops (they pretty much all quit in spring '23 because it was so bad). Accounts are...unfathomably saturated. I'm talking 50% are your book will have you fully domain blocked via email, or there have been 3+ HARD no's in the last 6-12 months, and yet your manager will still blame you for not breaking in. Or they will give you some BS coaching with the most generic "outreach strategy" ever. God forbid they just give Reps a fair chance with new accounts.

As others have mentioned, the biggest value you will get from DD as a commercial seller, is the name brand reputation on your resume if you stay a year+. Unless you get lucky with your book...then you can actually make a fu-- ton from commissions lol. CoM/MEDDIC training is also very good at DD. And worth noting, most of the Reps in Denver are actually very cool, genuine people. Management is the problem. Especially 1st line.
