I saw some glassdoor reviews saying that its almost impossible to take PTO. Is this true?

This is true in my experience. Everyone has  PTO days and some managers are probably supportive, but the whole culture is to never be truly unplugged. Work remote, but always be online. PTO requests over 5days has to be approved at the director level. It’s also encouraged to work national holidays.

I worked there for only one year. Even as a contractor, taking PTO was not necessarily prohibited, I guess, but no one took PTO at all. It's a 24/7 job, and the peer pressure of not taking any time off is ever-present. There's no culture, at least in sales, to take any time off—neither for vacation, special occasions, nor even sick leave. If you want to work for a company where taking time off is encouraged and there's a healthy culture around it, Deel is definitely not the place.

I once had a manager ask me to stop taking leave for the rest of the year although the company offered 18 days of PTO. I took 14, and at the time it was already December, so I was mind-blown when I was told not to take more leave.

As a sales manager, I can attest to the fact PTO is very rarely declined (if more than 5-10 days at a single time it may be worth discussing coverage etc) but it's not denied often at all!

In sales, it's easier to take 1-3 days here and there for quota sake than >1-2 weeks straight

PTO is only flagged if it's greater than 5 days. This will escalate to their Manager to review. Often this is for reasonable reasons and they get approved. Anyone asking to take long PTO while on a PIP will get denied. Overall, if you're a truly enjoy your craft - you'll always be available to check email and slack in case you have a prospect emailing you. No A-Player truly "checks out" in a sales role. Most of these reviews are from SDRs who are new to Sales
