In my experience at Alcon, certain leadership individuals displayed a concerning attitude that negatively impacted the work environment. While most RDs are competent, some exhibited toxic behaviors, affecting the team's reputation. Identifying and addressing negative influences is crucial. The leadership culture emphasized fear and submission over collaboration and support, resulting in rudeness and condescension towards subordinates. This demoralized individual contributors, hindering productivity for DMs and field sales teams, vital for the company's success. Creating a positive culture is crucial to retain top talent and ensure a healthy sales and business environment. Leaders must be supportive, encouraging, and respectful, recognizing individual employees' contributions. Valuing employees and offering incentives for growth leads to a motivated and successful team. Alcon has good qualities, but addressing these concerns constructively is essential to improve the work environment for all involved.
