Former Employee Amgen was a great organization when I started. The amazing leaders departed the organization and others came into Hematology from Onc and other BUs. These leaders were more worried about managing up and being liked to get promoted than delivering results. Amgen and the Onc/Hem BU is a very political organization where it is more about who you know and do they like you rather than a focus on results. Leaders who were great at their job and delivered were driven out in favor of those who played the game and managed the relationship up. Because of this, the talented leadership left and the leadership left behind became exposed and more turnover occurred. If you choose to work here, make sure you are making friends with those in power and managing the relationship with the Heads of Sales, Marketing and the BU.
