How challenging is it to meet sales targets as a new AE at Modernize?

Coming from someone currently at Modernize, I'd say the 10/18 answer is a bit off the mark.  With the changes made in the past 2 quarters, it's no longer simply you get out of it what you put into it. What no one will admit is that most sales and most revenue come from either inbound or, in some way, warm leads. The company fails to understand how to properly attribute value and mistakenly thinks outbound deals are much more valuable than inbound--it's just poor analysis and poor attribution. The argument they're trying to make is akin to a roofer who wants to double his business but scoffs at purchasing Mod leads because it only costs them $500 per sale when that sale is generated from a door knocker.  The roofer can much more easily scale up business with purchased leads, but isn't willing to due to the higher CAC. Mod similarly, is unwilling to acknowledge that their growth ambitions are unable to be supported by prospects who will engage with our outbound process and the blame falls on the sales team who have no little to no choice or flexibility in what prospects they work or how they work them--contrary to what leadership may say.

Also, as an aside, John Waltrip's leadership is an abysmal failure, he's grossly unqualified to even be in the role and outsources the most key parts of development for the sales team to ChatGPT and various LinkedIn influencers. The best thing he could do for the company would be to simply move on and allow a more qualified candidate to fill his role.

You get out of it what you put into it. The leadership there under John Waltrip is top notch (and this is coming from someone who worked under him and is no longer at Modernize).
