My experience at New York Life taught me a lot about how insurance companies can be, the highs and the lows. Great leadership culture, but terrible selling mechanism- social selling. Get your friends, your family, call them up and the random person you have in your phone. anyone and everyone needs what you sell. Very little inbound flow, i got 2 leads in the last 4 months, one of them was fake and the other one my mentor was able to sell.

I made chairmen’s club twice in this role. I had good senior leadership but poor first level management. This is a young persons role that has a hunter mentality. Lot of people fail out of this role

There's potential to earn great money as an insurance agent with NYL, but you have to do a lot of volume in prospecting. You also must have great product knowledge, which they provide in asynchronous online training (at your own pace). Management and trainers could definitely be better teachers in the art of sales.
