Former Employee My overall experience at Scholastic was extremely poor. They offer great benefits and time off, however the work culture is beyond toxic. The micromanagement is suffocating and the lies we are to tell our customers is disgraceful. They are so out of touch with the public education system, push book fairs when a school cannot hold them. Reps literally harass customers all school year long even though they were given a hard no. Management does not trust their team and this comes from the top down. The base pay is below market standard and goals are unattainable due to constant changes. The benefits are not worth being treated like a 5 year old. Just say no. Currently, it’s a sinking ship. Exes are leaving, their Manhattan HQ is up for sale…RUN!! Former Employee Great products, but it was very low pay and constant micromanaging.
