Former Employee Writer is an amazing product, with a great customer lineup but with the rapid changes in the product roadmap and leadership, it's been tough for sellers to figure out how to position the product. There is a lot of future selling or the need to build custom solutions for clients which complicates cycles or even punts deals. They are transitioning from selling primarily into Marketing into the IT/CIO persona which is elongating deal cycles as well. As deal cycles are getting longer, pressure from leadership is increasing.
May (CEO), is also one of the most driven and hardworking executives in tech but she expects the same amount of effort from every employee in the company. It's effected morale across the GTM team, and has made everyone paranoid about their performance on a daily basis. Also, the inbounds have basically depleted and has become an outbound model almost 100%, so expect to prospect about 80% of your time to have safe pipeline. You combine that with creating deal strategy for every single opportunity, building custom applications, and follow-up etc.. you find yourself working tirelessly for sub avg compensation.
