Honestly? I came in for the money, 100%. I was broke, saw a job that didn’t need experience and had commission upside, and said “yep, I’m in.” But over time, I kinda started to like it. there’s a weird thrill to it. Still not sure I love sales, but I respect it.

I like winning - so I like sales sometimes :) But I like the $$ all the time. Real answer - if it weren't for the money tbh I'd probably be doing something else.

If this job paid like teaching, we’d all be doing something else. I don’t wake up excited to get ghosted on a follow-up for the 3rd time this week. I stay for the commissions.

I love sales. It's the part where I feel I'm able to help someone. After a few years, you realize that with any profession, there's an art to good salesmanship.

Nah. I hate it. But I also don’t have any other marketable skills, so here we are. (and the money is nice)

I genuinely love sales it's not just what I do, it's who I am. Of course, I appreciate the rewards: the income, the competition, and the thrill of winning. But beyond the success and lifestyle, what truly drives me is solving complex problems and making a genuine difference in people's lives. Enterprise level sales which is what I do is fundamentally about sophisticated problem solving. It demands creativity, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate intricate situations. The process is deeply human, built on meaningful relationships, trust, and genuine camaraderie with clients. Each interaction is an opportunity to help someone achieve their goals, overcome challenges, or unlock new potential. If you're in sales purely for the money, you might achieve some short-term wins, but lasting success and true fulfillment come from genuine passion and purpose. T he most admired professionals, those consistently excelling and earning millions, share one common trait: they genuinely love what they do. Their drive, authenticity, and passion are the cornerstones of their success. Ask any really successful AE and they will all tell you the same thing, In sales, when you lead with passion and a genuine desire to help, success and satisfaction naturally follow.

Thanks for sharing that. I appreciate where you're coming from. Can't say I have the same fervor for it as you do... but I'd probably put myself somewhere in the middle of the "hate sales / love sales" spectrum.

money. hate it BUT if I get a fat commission check I love it... until I am in a dry spell, then I hate it again... then again, logging off at 12pm on fridays is nice... but staring at screens kills the adventurous soul, your youth, power, and dreams for the commissions welcome to sales, hotel california
