For a fresh grad, would you recommend a fully remote position or on-site? What are pros and cons?

You should strongly consider joining an on-site company. Remote work is great, it is flexible and convenient, however, you're going to miss out on the opportunity to learn from those around you. Early positions in sales typically focus on making calls and writing emails to book meetings for AE's. If you are sitting near your manager/co-workers you can listen to others approach to outreach and get instant feedback on your own calls/emails. I find that working remote as a seasoned AE I will rarely if ever get feedback on what I am doing. You're young, it's also fun and a great way to meet new people by going into the office.

100% on-site - IF you can find a role with a good sales org. The biggest factor that you should weight in your first sales job is learning potential. Experiential training from other reps, as well as any formal training program that's offered. All things being equal, you'll always learn more, faster, in-person. Because in sales much of the learning happens by observation, and in-the-moment - often informally. Can you get those things remotely? Absolutely - but it's very difficult to do. You can watch calls, you can sit in on calls, but it's not the same as being there. There's also the cultural aspect of developing a habit of just doing the work - and that's much easier to build if you can see other people doing it. That said - in the real world - it's more complicated than that. Would you be better off in a remote org with great product-market-fit, vs an in-person org where you're selling a nice to have solution? Sure... so as always it's a matter of how the different factors net out.

Hey there! Congrats on graduating. I'm going to agree with the others that you really do need to get some on-site experience, particularly early in your sales career. Here's my take: 1. Simply learning how to work and interact with others and be a professional employee. 2. Listening and being a part of in person conversations will be hugely valuable 3. Training will be way more impactful 4. Establishing a better relationship with your boss. As you grow in your (sales) career you'll likely have opportunities to work remote, but frankly don't pass up the chance to learn and build that great foundation in the first few years of your career. You'll meet people that you'll have relationships with the rest of your life too! Good luck.

I'm going to be a contrarian and say look for a hybrid role. Yes, you'll want some face-time in office, but I don't think it *has* to be everyday if you want some flexibility. That said, full-time in office at a great org is going to beat any benefits of working remotely for a crap company every time.

I'm a huge fan of being remote now, but I can't imagine how lonely it would've been to work remotely when I was starting out. Introvert, extrovert, doesn't matter. You'll be alone, a lot, and it can be really hard.

On-site till you have enough experience from learning the sales floor.

Think hybrid role would be best. But you learn so much from being on the sales floor with other sellers. Hearing how they handle objections or issues, so valuable.
