Hey everyone looking for some insight on anyone that has worked as an AE at Datadog. I’m currently looking at a mid market role. Have over 4 yrs of experience as core AE and channel AE at dell but I want to move into software and sell something more modern. If anyone has insight on datadog or any other companies in the Boston area I’d appreciate your insight. Thank you!

I also don't work there, so grain of salt, but I know someone who is currently there. The vibe is that not many people hit their number. It is consumption based, so even if you close a "big" deal, you won't get paid until the consumption metrics hit.
No direct experience, but indirectly I’ve heard it’s a very sharkish environment there. Maybe this is team/location dependant I’m not sure. But the stories I’ve heard from ex-reps would make me stay away. If you’re looking to jump into software sales and manage to secure the job, just go in with eyes wide open that it could be a tough environment and that you may be looking elsewhere in a couple of years time.
