First learn about how the B2B SaaS/Tech sales industry operates. Day to day life. Everything about it! Once you do your homework well, you can start hunting for jobs. Apply for small SaaS companies initially.

I would also recommend EdTech since you're more likely to be viewed as having relevant experience. Plus there are orgs like SFDC, Oracle, Workday, etc. that are always looking for SLED and you could potentially work your way around once in.
Check out companies in Edtech space or the job titles that include SLED (State, Local, and Education government). Play your strength, those will appreciate your background more than the traditional SaaS. /Bowtiedcocoon
