I have been in Tech Sales for 10 years and am looking to transition to Med Device/Pharma/Biotech - any of these types of roles - I have the network to get inroads** but was hoping for some guidance on the best path/easiest companies to break into? Or roles? I can start over and do the like run around training thing / but am having a hard time figuring out best place to start? These job descriptions are insane (lol! They don’t make sense at all..) Also - for the med device sales who wants tech let me know I worked in SAaS and would be happy to set up an intro to any of my former employers !! Theres 2 in particular - I am sure they would love to have you Thanks!! ** (Dad’s a Physician, his Dad was Physician, Sisters A COO of Ai Heathcare Co.)

Came from 8 years in SaaS, now in med device. First 3 months felt like learning a new language. I'd look at capital equipment reps or diagnostics first — fewer certifications required and a bit closer to tech sales motion.

Medical device is very different than pharma which is different than biologics and biotech and vastly different than aesthetic medical devices. What’s making you consider a change now? I’ve been in both tech sales and med devices so I’m happy to provide insight. You can also dm me

Hey man, i currently work as an ortho/sportsmed sales rep at an American MNC, ~2 months in. Was working in a clinical role prior so the ramp up wasn’t too long. Like others said, it’ll take some time for you to fully grasp the sales process and product line (entirely dependent on which area/specialty you’re covering). Im actually keen to look into SaaS, feel free to DM me.

2 years in med device working in orthopedic sales. Very different sales process. Like a previous comment said first few months/year feel like learning a new language. It really all depends on what you’re selling and what you want your lifestyle to be. Trauma you’ll be on call a lot working a ton of hours where biologics/wound care you’re typically selling in normal business hours. Ortho is okay, typically all elective. Depends on where your territory is and what you’re selling. You’re likely going to take a pay cut your first year also. Would love to hear about your experience in SaaS. It’s something im very interested in. Thanks! If you have any more questions feel free to reach out.
