I’m currently a mid-market AE in the ed-tech space. My current comp structure is $82,500 and 18.5%, $133k OTE. My leadership wants to promote me to a Manager role, but I’m also in a great position with my pipeline to keep hitting/exceeding quota as an AE, and the AEs that would be under me aren’t hitting quota. A at What would you suggest I negotiate my comp plan to be as a Manager?

The fact you're in a position to hit minimum $133k/year with assuming uncapped commission I would say it is fair to ask for ~$120k base and ~$150k OTE. I know sales roles tend to be more lucrative, with a manager role being more heavy on the base and less commission, but since you are exceeding OTE in your current role, assuming this would be a promotion and more likely less room to exceed OTE, it depends on if you would like to be a people manager or if you enjoy the grind of a sales rep that can be more lucrative.
