I really want to get into sales from education. Are there any steps I should take in order to move forward?

If you were a teacher, I would highly recommend moving to corporate trainer. That will get your foot in the door. Then you can learn the lay of the land and transition to sales.

There is a guy from 30MPC (google it) that went from education to sales in the last half year. Check him out.
I'd suggest you get clearer on what you're looking for first. What type of sales are you most interested in? B2B or B2C. Industry? (Edtech, healthcare, financial services, etc.) Target roles SDR/BDR, or aiming for Account Executive/Account Manager roles? And your timeline.
