If you're looking for a new Sales job in SaaS. Who is better to reach out to: The hiring manager (sales development manager, sales manager), or the talent acquisition team? Thanks!

I've been working with reps to multithread in organizations and we usually target 5 personas with 5 different messaging adapted specifically to the worries/concerns they have at their level when bringing someone new. Here are the highest version personas from best to worse: 1. Sales Leaders (sales managers, directors, VP) 2. Recruiters/HR 3. University Alumni working at your target company 4. Ex-colleage working at your target company (you've shared at least one employer) 5. Sales reps (the least helpful!) -BowtiedCocoon PS. here's an script you can use right now to target sales leaders in a way that's not begging for an interview (bonus point if you can record a LOOM!): Hey [Name], Looks like [Company Name] is hiring across the board in the rev org - congrats. As a Sales Manager who’s been through hypergrowth periods like yours, you know how tough it is to staff fast without lowering the bar for [Role Name] talent. It’s a lose-lose: Hire fast, hit targets, but a few weak links sneak through - or - Hire slow, bring on strong AEs, but miss your number. I’ve built a track record of crushing quota in fast-paced environments, consistently hitting the ground running faster than most & I’m confident I can help you close that gap between speed and quality by being the kind of rep who doesn’t need six months of hand-holding to bring net new revenue. Is eliminating the risk of mis-hiring the wrong [Role] on your team worth a quick chat this week? Best, [Your First Name] PS. pfa resume attached

I would start with the hiring mgr, but multi-threading is always helpful. Leverage internal contacts if you have them- for referrals and giving you HM contact info if you don't have it (which frequently you won't) they can also reach out on your behalf to HMs to make sure you get an interview.

I'd also reach out to reps for a coffee chat and if you like what you hear ask directly for a referral.
