Find a company with a strong program and success in promoting from within. You'll never stop the fundamentals of being an SDR, but you will want to progress in your career (not a lot of career long SDRs) Pick a product you're passionate about and a leadership team / or handful of direct leaders who you will work well with, learn from and who will challenge you.

Best advice to give, network with other SDR and BDRs through LinkedIn . Learn the is and outs of their roles and challenges. This will help you not only to prepare but to network with those very individuals for open opportunities in their organization
