My last AE job ended because my firm wasn't willing to support my market vertical in light of some regulatory issues. I'm looking for new jobs but it is really hard to find ONE job where all three of these things are true: 1. The job is in my industry vertical. 2. Is selling a cool data/AI product. 3. Is at a prestigious company. Since I've started applying I've gotten interviews with Databricks and Nvidia, but haven't managed to close a job opportunity yet. Currently I am applying to Microsoft and others but I realize that it'll be really tough to get all three of these right. I realize I may only get one or two of these factors, but I don't know which to prioritize. Would you be more concerned about chasing the highest OTE or biggest company vs. just trying to stay in my vertical at an off target company? Which of those factors should I prioritize the most if I can't get all three in one job?
