The recruiter and career coach community is telling me LinkedIn based role applications is a dead marketplace for a number of factors; over-explosed, AI tools sets in Applicant Tracking Systems, etc. That the path forward is identifying org you are interested in and direct emailing folks working their asking for 10 minutes to learn more about the experience inside the organization. Thoughts on the approach?

I would agree with this sentiment. LinkedIn has some significant problems. They do not effectively police people that auto-apply, and they fail to ban fake accounts. That is why jobs can have 1ks of applications, and you see them get reposted over and over. ATS has a whole host of issues that takes too long to explain. If you show initiative by reaching out and confirming you are a real human, that is the winning strategy. Don't just ask for the 10 minutes. Be winsome to them, and follow up asking if they can send you a referral link for the role you are looking for. Make them want to champion your progress towards an interview.

It seems to me that any kind of blind application (LinkedIn, Indeed, company website) is leading to auto rejection emails a few days after. When I've been on the market, my best approach was to send video intros via Loom. It's more work, but if you've identified 5-10 companies you're highly interested in and have a good background fit with, It's worth the extra time!

Hi there, Not true, company are still paying and using job boards like Linkedin to funnel candidates their way. If you're applying to 10 jobs and not getting a single interviews, the problem isn't linkedin - it's the positioning (how the market perceives you) in the way that you frame yourself in the resume. Think of it like this: 🤡Resume writing = you talk about yourself 🐲Resume positioning = you talk to the hiring manager’s fear Thats why slapping metrics like Pclub, 120% attainments isn't enough. Everyone can lie about their numbers. Not everyone can speak and remove fears. /BowTiedCocoon
