Datos Insights is an insights and advisory firm providing mission-critical insights on technology, regulations, strategy, and operations to banks, insurers, payments providers, and investment firms—as well as the technology and service providers that support them.

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join our growing Sales team and focus on generating new business with Banks and Credit Unions. This role requires a substantial amount of new client acquisition (“hunter”) enthusiasm and includes cross-selling published research and subscription services and growing relationships with new clients. You will prospect, cultivate and win new opportunities within your target accounts.

Scope of role: Insights and advisory subscription services (primary focus), custom projects (marketing and data) and global market data. Approximate annual quota = $600K.

Desired experience and capabilities include:

  • 5+ years of B2B business development experience
  • The ability to engage C-level and senior leadership within client organizations
  • A track record of overachievement on goals or quotas
  • Love building your own business through prospecting, appointment setting, creation of thoughtful presentation decks
  • Proficiency with Salesforce.com
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, and strong organisational skills
  • English fluency, a bachelor’s degree and a willingness to travel up to 20% of the time
  • Experience in the financial services or insurance industry and selling a subscription-based model are a plus, but not required

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve quota
    • Prospect potential new clients and opportunities. Run sales cycles to generate new subscription revenue, as well as occasional consulting.
  • Achieve activity targets for new sales interactions and client lifecycle touchpoints
  • Create and facilitate broad and deep prospect engagement. Create and maintain engagement plans and promote new services
    • Investigate and understand the business objectives of potential clients in order to develop and demonstrate a solution tailored to their needs
    • Effectively present the value of Datos’ products and services to potential clients
    • Plan and participate in client calls and meetings, add notes to the CRM, and coordinate follow up on any action items. Create and edit presentations, spreadsheets, reports, and meeting materials, as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of sales and account management activity, forecasting data, and client data in the CRM
  • Run crisp business management practices. Participate in a cadence of forecasting and account planning on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis. Prepare for and participate in internal account management calls to apprise management of client status
