Whats the Sales Culture like at Autodesk? Do they do well with Diversity in the management ranks?

Autodesk is very performative when it comes to diversity. They hire you because you are a minority and if you actually know how to do the job they hired you for they are shocked. They also pay minorities less than white men even if you sell more than them.

Diversity is a high priority within Autodesk, and they go out of their way to ensure employee rights are protected.   The culture within the sales organzations vary depending on the business unit, I can specifically speak to the construction side.   In general it is a HIGHLY political organization - middle management varies in its genuine abilities, some are excellent and truly concerned with your development however many are in director or executive roles simply because of their connections.  ALWAYS watch your back as your manager will be the first person to throw you under the bus if anything goes wrong.  Seriously.

Many do not make quota and are even at the bottom of the leaderboard yet get promoted to senior positions - those are the ones to be on the lookout for.   And do not make the mistake of thinking that being on of the top performers you will be safe.  Top performers get terminated and bottom performers get promoted - its commonly an upside down world in the construction organization.  I've never worked for a more political organization in my entire career.

Its a great place to work for a while - the income is good the first year or two and the name looks great on your resume.   Most don't make quota and about 20% get close, but they keep incomes down by setting quotas high which ensures you won't get to your OTE, especially in your 3rd year and onward.
