Current Employee I worked at Bloomberg in sales and it was the most toxic corporate environment I’ve experienced. It’s not about results – it’s about politics, compliance theater, and keeping your head down while the wrong people get promoted.
Micromanagement is extreme – 30 client meetings a month, 80% in person, whether clients want them or not. Leadership runs on a “big brother” model: constant monitoring, zero trust, and managers who will lie to push out high earners to save budget. My skip manager didn’t know the products but insisted on attending my meetings to judge me rather than help close business. Promotions and hiring often had nothing to do with merit – just box-ticking or connections.
Training is nonexistent, the CRM is archaic, and the forced use of the terminal for everything creates endless manual busy work. Information hoarding is the norm, and the culture rewards self-preservation over team success.
The forced return to office was another tone-deaf move – no data, no flexibility, just control for control’s sake.
If you want merit, collaboration, and respect, look elsewhere. If you’re fine with corporate politics on steroids, this is your place. Browse Other Reviews
