Comp models are changing every year making it difficult to achieve success on complicated, long term deals. The company has also become very slow to reacting to market changes to stay relevant in certain sectors of their business. Overall not a bad company but you need to understand the company‘s performance in the sector you are working in (or going to be if new to the company) since layoffs are common.

Cisco is a very friendly, polite company. They’re also living in the past. While they aspire to be a software company, and have made positive executive changes in this direction.
