Former Employee Working at Delegate was a lesson in how leadership can prioritize ego over results. I secured a preferred vendor agreement with the largest restaurant company in the world, a game-changing deal that should have significantly benefited both me and the company. However, the Chief Revenue Officer saw my success as a threat—he didn’t believe I should earn more than him, despite the revenue I brought in. Instead of rewarding the achievement, he underpaid me by six figures and then exercised at-will employment to let me go. In the end, it was a clear example of leadership failing to recognize and reward real business impact.
