Great place to start career. tons of at bats, guaranteed closing roles. Lots of deals, and recurring revenue. Customer satisfaction very high. Great tech support and documentation backbone. Best in class product, hands down. Very easy to get people on the phone. Almost no outbound required. Objectively interesting product, industry, customers. Easy sales process, nearly guaranteed customer success. Not great if you expect high pay or huge deals - mostly good for high volume of distributed smaller deals. Products sell at ~$5K, ~$20K, and ~$60K, very obvious and transparent pricing, clear cut solutions. Not a ton of creative "solution selling" in the average sales motion. Technical savvy is a must-have, sales dopes are useless on the phone in this role. Most SaaS reps would fail here because they're not smart enough (come at me) to push back on customer technical objections without looking stupid...but landing your next job after this role can be a little challenging: overcome the mistaken notion among recruiters and hiring managers that selling SaaS is fundamentally different from hardware, or anything else (it's not. get over it). Discovery, qualification, and vast, high volume pipeline management skills are the crux of this role.
