What makes the Professional Development and Training so strong at KEYENCE? Really strong score on here for that.  Is this a good place for a junior rep just getting started?

Keyence only hires entry-level reps and they only promote from within. They don’t hire for senior sales positions, sales managers, or director levels outside of the organization at all. This allows for a great training program and development from peers and managers managers even after training.

Training is great but mind you you are not getting trained by sales people. You get trained by tech. specialists which is not a bad thing but can be a lot if you don’t come from an engineering background. Biggest takeaway from an SDR role at Keyence is they care more about your activity than sales….

The training is specialized and ran by engineers that are experts on the tool. You spend 6-10 weeks paid for at headquarters becoming an expert on your product line. Great place for a rep starting out that gets your outside sales experience and a ton of industry knowledge

Keyence heavily rely's on data for all decisions related to process, training, development, etc. Because of this, they have proven paths to success for those that choose to follow through, do the work, and remain coachable. As an interviewee, ask as many questions as possible about your product line's sales activity and methodology expectations and be honest with yourself about whether it aligns with your ambitions for your career. Keyence has been a catalyst for advancing many junior reps' sales careers, and has also pushed reps out of sales entirely.
