I was at Keyence for roughly 7 years, only missed a promotion once, earned a number of awards, and operated as a Sales Manager for roughly 2 years. That is rather rare. Most people only last 2 years. If you can harden yourself to a high volume of activity, micromanaged metrics and made-up strategies (they alternate between Quantity and Quality ever other half), you will be successful here. As a Sales Manager you can hit your goals but find your pay decreasing because of a system they call MPRP. No one knows what it means or how it works but I left because I was achieving my goals but being paid less. That said, the products are amazing and they are an industry leader in technology. Your Manager, territory you operate in, and division, will determine how long you work here. Be ready to be another number on a spreadsheet.

Keyence is a great company for new sales guys but they are struggling to hold onto the key players due to incentive structure. If you are a high performer, go elsewhere after getting trained here.

Great place to learn the industry. Goals and growth are unsustainable. Lots of pressure from Japan. Some great people who are overworked and underpaid.
