When I started at Mattress Firm things were great, but over time the company slowly fell apart. From the beginning, the base compensation was an absolute joke. Your base pay is 1.5X your local minimum wage, so base pay was $10.88/hr. As a sales professional that is absolutely laughable. Even when I moved into a management role, the base pay does not change. They add the bonus opportunities, and a $500/month "leadership pay." John Eck has ran this company into the ground, and in 2022 took home an over $40 million dollar bonus while the employees got nothing. I would never recommend anyone work here. Avoid this company like the plague.

Mattress Firm can be great or bad, completely depending on which store(s) / consumer market you’re placed in & your lifestyle preference. Pros: If in the best stores, large money potential ($4000 checks for certain two week periods, depending on holiday season or time of year / market), laid back job, decent change to rise up to leadership but company does play...Read More
