Heard that 25% of the company was laid off as of today (Sept 6, 2023) including some sales reps.  Anyone know why that's the case if the team is supposedly over-performing and doing so well?

Good question. 2 record breaking months- the layoffs had nothing to do with performance and was a blindside.

Answer

Ultimately the sales team is one part of the org, and business challenges outside of the team's control ended up coming into play. The leadership team made the difficult decision to part ways with a large portion of the company in order to set us up to be profitable by EOY. This meant having to let go members of the sales team who were at or above 100% attainment.
