To hit quota consistently you have to log a lot of opps that are not a good fit at all and will go absolutely no where. A lot of reps have to even log fake oops just to hit goal or even just be close to it. They expect you to spend a lot of overtime to build prospects in overworked accounts and spend hours to find a rare untouched account that’s never been called which can add on hours. The model for the sdr role is very much quantity over quality. They also aren’t transparent about promotion path to AE, they make it seem like if you hit a certain number you get promoted but they really make you wait a long time and expect you to still hit quota every month while doing AE training and still not promote you. There’s not even enough business days most months to hit quota on both the demo booking and qualified meetings. A lot of reps that get praised for hitting demo goal either logged a lot of awful opps to waste the AE’s time just to hit goal or they’re just straight up not real.
