Promotion prospects feel very low unless you're keen on selling network security (firewalls and segmentation) or pivot into a different specialist role (like Splunk)

Leadership is exceptionally poor top down and activity metrics (whether qualified or not) often outweigh strategic discussions about opportunities (because leadership lacks the ability to have such conversations)
