My experience was in the daily rental division - you're paid a percentage of profit per month at your office. This can depend on the specific office as some might be heavier retail vs insurance rentals, but overall it's controllable because you can directly influence booking. Base pay will vary per region, but usually the profit bonus was great for the type of work you were doing.

I found that the compensation was pretty poor relative to the workload. I found that in their car sales division due to their lack of marketing we a bottom of the barrel solution. The clients that came through our doors organically all had  extremely poor credit and rarely could get financed. The potential leads we had that would have been warm viewed our brand as beat up old rental cares due to the lack of brand marketing and positioning. The reality is that an enterprise car sales car is as good if not better than a large majority of used cars as rentals are the key supplier of late model used vehicles to dealer groups. We just never stood a chance as salespeople due to the poor credit of our interested clientele and the stigma that our better qualified leads regarded the brand with.
