Current Employee The sales organization is unique in the software/tech space in that no salesperson is on commission. There is only the base salary and possibly some bonus based on hourly earnings. Most salespeople also don't have quotas but potentially team or group revenue goals. On the one hand, this cultivates a culture and mindset that is customer-focused; on the other, traditional ICs are not incentivized to or compensated for operating as they typically would in other tech sales environments.
