If you come in entry level is it possible to work your way up to senior level sales positions?

They have some Senior Level Sales positions but it takes sometime to get close to the level where they would consider you.

When I was there, there were opportunities for growth. Most were based on social relationships more than merit.

It is possible, however you will need to interview for any non-lateral position you pursue internally. To be fair, if you are not wildly successful in your current role you will not be considered for promotion. To that effect, you will most likely need at least 12 months tenure along with proven success.

It's been years since I was at GK but the lack of upward mobility was the #1 reason I left.  I was there 4 years and nothing in site as far as development or moving up.  After I left, I was in management in two years.  GK isn't where you go to get into Senior Level Sales or Leadership, for sure!

Yes, but they'll have 5-7ish reps coming in at a time and 60ish on the floor at any given time. Management positions come open very infrequently as many people will find a spot and stay there. So picture 60 people fighting for 3-4 positions a year at most. Also, in my experience the hardest workers and/or the people best suited for the job will NOT get promoted as it's usually the people 'willing to play the game' that picked over anyone else.

There used to be more opportunity for this. Very few open management level roles available.
