Compensation will be as low as they can negotiate or, as high as you can negotiate. The MPS role is high-stress, extremely long hours and a lot of surgeon ego-stroking. It is in no way a 'great gateway' to sales, good MPS = locked in OR 24/7, no way out. Bad MPS = fired. Want to sell? Go into sales.

RE: comp more specifically. MPS get bet $75k-$130k (higher end for tenured ones with busy surgeons that like them) I personally wouldn't advise doing that job for anything less than $180k. I've done it all in Orthopedics and for what they pay vs what's asked of mps... it isn't worth it.

I would expect the lower of the range until you are fully certified. Once you have all three certifications you will get “promoted” to MPS from associate MPS.  Salary plus up to 10% bonus paid annually.The sales side will depend on the territory. The reps are pretty protective of the surgeons
