I worked at VMware for many years prior to Broadcom's acquisition. The role has competitive pay, but that's about it. Very uncertain future outlook and customers who are not at all happy about the direction they've taken VMware. Many routine layoffs that will not slow down anytime soon. Leadership typically uses their reps as cannon fodder for unhappy customers.

I was part of the VMware to Broadcom acquisition and there was an endless list of jarring changes. I spent three years at VMWare before the acquisition where I earned $1.7M. On year four (year 1 of Broadcom) - they didn't give us quotas and instead just paid us OTE whether we booked a deal or not.
