Former Employee The sales cycle, including onboarding is typically 18 months, and an additional 4 months from go-live to first commission payment. Average lifespan of a salesperson here is 2 years.
Commission structure is changed yearly, always having a negative impact on earnings. Targets are rarely confirmed until end of Q2, at which point it’s way too late for salespeople to do anything as it’s impossible to get anything live in 6 months. Targets and commission are set when leadership can already see where you’ll land, so the deck is stacked against you. My commission potential was cut 45% at yr1 and another 40% at yr2.
I never saw anyone come close to hitting targets. You’d need to put in 2 yrs min to build a deal flow, at which point you’d be laid off for not hitting target in 2 years.
The base salary isn’t bad, in all fairness, but don’t expect to ever see a commission check.
