There is a lack of professional development and internal promotions.

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. We know that opportunities for development and promotion are key factors in a rewarding career, and we appreciate you calling this out. Over the past year, we’ve been working intentionally to expand growth pathways across the revenue organization. In that time, five XDRs have moved into new roles including Account Executive, Account Manager, and Customer Success positions and we’re committed to continuing that momentum. We’ve also strengthened our enablement efforts and partnered with Sales Assembly to give team members additional resources to build skills and prepare for their next step. Additionally, we launched clearer career pathing within and beyond the XDR organization to give people more visibility into what growth can look like at Canto. To make these opportunities even more transparent, we recently rolled out career pathing both within the XDR team and across adjoining departments. Our goal is to ensure people understand what advancement can look like and feel supported as they work toward it. We’re grateful for your perspective, feedback like yours helps us continue improving how we support our teams.

Would not recommend working as an SDR here. Mid-management are supportive enough but senior management are not transparent and do not foster career growth.

We understand how important supportive leadership, transparency, and clear career growth are, especially in an SDR role and we appreciate you calling out those areas. Since this review was originally written, we’ve put a lot of focus into strengthening both communication and development across the team. In our most recent bi-annual engagement survey, 93% of the XDR group agreed that our executive leaders keep them informed about what’s happening at Canto — a positive indicator in how we are approaching transparency and company wide communication today. We also saw 87% of XDR team members say their manager shows genuine interest in their career aspirations, which reflects the continued effort we’ve put into supportive, hands on coaching at the mid management level. Career growth has also become a major priority. Over the past several months, multiple XDRs have moved into AE, AM, and CS roles, supported by clearer pathing and additional enablement resources to help them prepare for what’s next. We’re grateful for your honesty and your time at Canto. Feedback like this has helped shape many of the improvements we’ve made, and we’ll keep building on that progress for both current and future team members.
