Top Earning Potential seems pretty limited - what about the comp plan limits this? Thanks!

The earning potential is limited
But
A realistic number breaks down like this

The top 5% of reps will triple their base ($150-$180K)

Top 10 probably $120-150K (this is where I fell)

Top 20 $80-120K

I don’t care about anything below this because if you aren’t at least doubling your salary…

Base is low but depending on the division, OTE will vary. If you are on the mats & uniform side, you can make somewhere around $130K if you absolutely knock it out of the ball park your first year, most don’t though. The base is rough ($50k range) & you are physically knocking on 50+ doors a week.

The base is very low, about 40k, and that includes the monthly vehicle allowance.  That is the biggest part of what keeps it low. Some competitors undercut and raise prices later on- so it can take a while for customer base to become dissatisfied and ready to make the switch.

Inside sales base is 50K and there is no “quota” you earn anywhere from 2-4x of your sale where average deal size is only $20-$45 depending on the division. The earning potential is uncapped but you also need to follow up with install on all deals. There are also very old systems in place for customer management. Dynamics for prospecting, Fiori Launchpad for account management, sharepoint for all forms, Assyst for submitting new orders via excel where another team actually keys in the order… etc

At least in fire division those numbers are realistic for a first year rep. Year 2 ote is about 160k and about 80% of reps usually hit once they’re tenured. Top 20% easily over 200k top 5% are about 250k.  Bonus capped ar 20k a quarter but commission is unlimited.
