Should I move to Cintas to get closing experience? Been a BDR (SaaS) for 2.5 years now, no path to AE. I'm making ok money but it's frustrating not knowing what I'm working towards. I'm remote which is nice but I'm thinking a chance will be healthier for me. Will leaving SaaS screw me?

If you want to do SaaS, skip Cintas.

They don't do remote at all, the sales process is very different. They say it's about selling value but really they just battle on price nonstop.

I left Cintas and moved to another company in the same industry, making 3x and working 1/2 as much.

I just had to move from Cintas to BDR bc SaaS companies didn’t think the sales experience would translate. Hang tight if SaaS is your end goal.

Honestly, moving to Cintas is a step back. The role is basically a BDR role with a lower salary and benefits that are slightly below industry standards. I don’t think leaving SaaS will screw you, but there’s plenty of companies hiring right now that won’t make you hate your life.

Cintas is a great spot to learn how to close a large amount of business. Short sales cycle typically, with amazing culture and positive attitude. They look to hire leaders and competitive sales reps. Strictly promote within and your manager works to get you promoted asap! Great company, worth a look

if you are 27 years old or younger, cintas is a great place to learn how to close and hustle. However, very few tech companies admire Cintas sales because they are not tech. Perhaps the combination of both you’d be in a better situation, but I would stick to tech if possible

It’s been the greatest decision I’ve made moving from ADP to Cintas. I’ve been there for sure, my question is have you had that conversation with you manager on what exactly do you need to see from me in order to become an AE. I get hit up  med sales and SAAS daily on LinkedIn still.

I’d start searching for “start ups”
Companies that just got funding and are searching for AE titles or higher because they’re remote & it’s harder for them to steal successful SAAS reps so you’ll have a leg up when looking

I’d stay in the SaaS if you’re looking for to grow your income. For sales you can make great money, but only the top 10% hit quote, I was one of those, and the other 90% struggle to sell. They had to lower the bar to hit their first tier of bonus because so few were achieving it.

Even though being a sales pro at  Cintas gives you a lot of baseline sales skills as well as professional development if you’re already working in SAAS your ability move around to other SAAS companies far exceeds what you’ll be able to move on to industry wise in comparison to Cintas
