This role is everything - you’re an SDR, a AE, customer success, onboarding, customer support, billing contact for a lot of issues. From what I’ve seen the major success stories are really market dependent, bigger market more opportunity but also more competition both internal and external. The comp plan is like a rosetta stone, extremely confusing and based on about 20 different factors that it’s almost impossible to hit everything every month. On top of this they take a 3-month average approach. So you need to kill it for three months to really get paid what you deserve. You get clawbacks on clients in your book but there is 6 month protection in the beginning. They don’t use salesforce and the proprietary sales systems are 10 years behind where they need to be. Leadership might understand this however it doesn’t seem like a priority. They call it “grit” but it’s really just climbing through a whole bunch of bs to try and hit your goal which is typically achievable but would be so much more attainment with sales automation.
