Hootsuite over-hired in 2021 and early 2022 and had to layoff almost 50% of its sales teams. Good opportunity to learn and a stepping stone in Canadian tech.

Up until the three rounds of layoffs, the company culture and the work we were doing was great. I felt that we really stood out when it came to supporting our people and really going above and beyond to promote a work/life balance. Its a great product. Leadership at a high level is top US Centric and lacks a true focus on the UK Market. The GTM plans and structure have been changed too frequently and from a distance leading to a sense of hire and fire and poor motivation for the best people. Eg 400 people were recruited in 2022 the an equal number let go at the year end
