How effective do you find the leadership team at SHI in providing coaching and development for sales staff? Based on your experiences with the leadership there, would you recommend a sales position at SHI?

I guess that would depend on if you have ever worked in IT or sales before. Beginning ramp is not bad (but very kindergarden-ish). However, after that, leadership as a whole is awful. Very tone-deaf and selfish leadership that only values you when you're having a good month, otherwise you're left to suffer and not helped in any way. Post-ramp development is nonexistent and so is the coaching. The only people you can talk to really are the enablement team who hasn't sold in 10 years and has no idea what they're doing.

Lets just say all of leadership was promoted when the targets were supper low. Most of the current managers would not survive in the environment they create currently. They would not make it back to the top if they were to start over right now. I think that says a lot.

At SHI, your experience might depend heavily on how well you can navigate things on your own after the initial training. The onboarding is fairly straightforward, but the real challenge begins afterward. Leadership seems to only take notice when you're hitting your numbers, and there's little in the way of ongoing support or development. If you're looking for guidance or growth beyond the basics, you might find it lacking. The resources available, like the enablement team, don’t always offer the practical, up-to-date advice you might need to succeed.

I agree that it depends on your experience but the upfront training is all inclusive in terms of content however it is like any other role, it depends on the leader. There are good and bad so I recommend connecting with the team to get an understanding as well.

Very few leaders, way too many glorified managers.  In terms of sales development, leadership is unable to provide much if any professional guidance post ramp up. The leadership is inexperienced, and the company is too large to be this young. It's a house of cards built upon sand.
