As an account manager, your success is really tied to the book of business you receive. The great thing about the role is that you get comission on renewals, so if you renew atleast flat and on a multi-year you can make some serious money that way. The hard part is you have extremley high quota for net new ARR, coming from your book of business. The quota is very similar to an account executive, which seems very unattainable.

The company has no idea how to sell to the enterprise market and the management team other than the CFO is lacking. They hired a previous VP of Sales that was in over his head and destroyed the company
