Quotas are rising 40-50% YoY with only 20% or fewer reps hitting 100%+. Roles, territories, and targets are constantly adjusted so it’s tough to establis trust and credibility with accounts. No holdovers into a new fiscal, so months of work on an opp is given to the next assigned rep, very unequal process. Training is focused on buzz words, learn through experience in deals, which can compromise close success. Experts who’ve sold well in the past are leaving, so knowledge loss. SE’s and tech support getting let go for no apparent reason, leading to knowledge loss. No internal promotions in some divisions, or “hush” promotions where you’re not allowed to discuss your role change. Other divisions promotions are handed out constantly for underachieving reps. Decisions on what retires quota can change throughout the year, or for specific deal sizes, so you lose commission and % gained. Slightly helicopter leadership, opps need to be updating daily, even if there’s no change (check the box activity). Low support in tools for prospecting. Competing against e-commerce products constantly with no change coming. Remote work is great, a whole hearted “hard times” atmosphere from reps can be fun. Unlimited PTO and full benefits.
