Former Employee Another quarterly earnings report means another round of layoffs at Upwork. Like clockwork, it happens every quarter.
The only consistency is the CEO and it's beyond time for her to go. Nobody has any faith in her - not the rank & file sales people, not front line managers, and definitely not middle managers. There's only so many times your can watch her tearfully announce she's forced to let people go, before you realize those are crocodile tears.
The most recent round of sales & marketing layoffs (May 2, 2023) once again included people that were hired as recently as the previous month.
Avoid unless you have no other options, and keep looking if you onboard, because layoffs happen every 3 months and will continue.
