Former Employee During my time at Verizon, I had the opportunity to contribute to a high-performance sales environment and support large-scale business solutions for enterprise clients. One of the key factors behind my personal achievements was the guidance and hands-on support of my immediate supervisor, who provided strategic coaching and helped our team navigate an evolving market. Although they were not given a fair opportunity to remain through the broader layoffs, their leadership directly contributed to my growth and confidence in handling complex sales conversations and client relationships.
However, not all aspects of the role were without challenge. The targets set by upper management often felt unattainable, lacking grounding in market conditions or resource alignment. Additionally, the internal environment was influenced by favoritism and a perceived culture of nepotism, which sometimes undermined morale and opportunity for advancement based on merit.
Despite those hurdles, I remained focused on building relationships with clients, delivering results, and maintaining professionalism. The experience reinforced my belief in the importance of strong frontline leadership and transparent performance management—and gave me the resilience to succeed in future high-stakes roles.
