How challenging is it to meet sales targets as a new Account Executive at Verkada?

Only about 15% of fully ramped reps hit quota. If a recruiter tells you attainment is higher, they are factoring in reps who are not fully ramped. Average lifespan of a rep is about 8 months. They want to let you go before a year so your RSUs don’t vest.

All depends on the validity of deal reg's you get. Going to be really hard to land net new business (as a corp rep) in your first quarter or two.

Some new reps hit the lottery and walk into a territory with 50+ customers spending millions. Most are unlucky and start with a cold patch with far less customers (<10) spending a total $150k. For 80% of reps on CORP side of business it is almost impossible but you can get lucky w/ SLED (sometimes).

Depends on the patch you are covering...if there is no existing business, it is going to be an uphill battle as sales cycles are generally 3-6 months and average deal size is 20-30k with 430K+ quarterly numbers.

Full disclosure, I manage a team here. About 40% of my reps hit QoQ. Everyone is fully ramped, and we cover the midwest.

It's doable if you are a good rep. By good, I mean curious, hardworking and ethical. A fun fact: our Senior AE hires hit at almost double the rate of junior AEs -- reason being, this is a complicated sales process that requires skill.

And the comment below about lifespan / RSUs is total garbage.
