Former Employee Mentality weak middle management, example EMEA VP, who are terrified of disappointing their bosses. The result is sellers pressured into aspirational forecast commitments.
To shore up our unobtainable team forecasts, the reps receive a near-constant stream of micro-management phone calls late into the evenings. Answering these WhatsApp calls you never knew if you are about to be praised as the best rep in the company or literally screamed and sworn at. It never has anything to do with our work but everything to do with how vulnerable our manager feels in the moment before calling. Everyone in my team retreated in on themselves and stopped communicating in team slacks. Teammates, Grown men, have called me crying. I'm not sure of any job where it's acceptable to treat people like this.
