Former Employee I joined as a Senior AE, but the experience fell short of expectations and was marked by misrepresentation and dysfunction. I was told I’d be the third AE on a high-performing team with strong inbound support and a strategic account focus. In reality, I was the eleventh AE, all with the same title, and no one was achieving quota. (despite claims of 150% attainment)
The role was largely outbound SDR work into a small territory, with no inbound leads or marketing support. The CRM was filled with recycled or fake opportunities. My manager, who hired me, never proactively reached out in my first two months; all contact was initiated by me and often went unanswered. No reliable onboarding support was provided.
Soon after I started, the role was renamed “Commercial Account Executive,” capped at accounts with under 850 employees, contradicting the strategic focus I was hired for. The DACH sales team suffered from low performance, poor morale, and a toxic culture of cliques and gossip, in stark contrast to the more positive culture at HQ in The Hague. New hires are even asked to post overly positive reviews during onboarding.
